The Solemnity of the Ascension of Jesus Christ, also called Ascension Day, commemorates the Christian belief of the bodily Ascension of Jesus into Heaven
On Ascension Day or the Ascension of the Lord, Christianity commemorates that Jesus Christ ascended to God, His Father in heaven, thirty-nine days after His resurrection from the dead. The celebration is part of the Easter cycle, in which Ascension Day counts as the fortieth Easter day.
